The highlight of every Beta Xi Brother's year, Brotherhood Retreat offers a weekend of getting away from the hustle and bustle of college life and enjoying the beauty and
serenity of Mother Nature. Each Spring, Beta Xi packs up and heads for the border to enjoy three days of road trip, hiking, camping, storytelling and just taking it
easy on Brother Clay Miller's ranch in Valentine, Texas. 2000 marks the fifth consecutive year we have held retreat at Brother Miller's ranch, which includes an
authentic, turn-of-the-century U.S. Army fort. Activities during retreat include the boulder and rock chucking contest off of the cliffs overlooking Mexico; a
three-plus mile hike with picnic through the beautiful canyons on the ranch; the infamous PowerHour and ant hill climbing contest after the hike; and perhaps most
importantly, the time to bond with Beta Xi brothers both present and past. Although not required, we encourage all actives to attend this event because there is
nothing like it. We also encourage alumni to attend - besides Brother Miller, there are several present every year. If nothing else, it is an excellent way for the
actives to get away from the grind of college life and an excellent way for alumni to escape the daily routine of their jobs and escape to Nature. Perhaps most
importantly, however, is that it is quality time for the brothers of Beta Xi to bond. And it is an excellent way for alumni to meet and grow closer to the actives
in the chapter. We will try to notify everyone as far in advance as possible so that you can make plans to attend. Hope to see you there!
